Foster and Sponsorship Information:
***Fostering is basically taking the animals into your home for a few weeks and loving them like they were your own. We normally do this for animals that have been at our shelter for a while and need some room to run and fresh air, this also helps give them more time to be adopted. We also occasionally need foster homes for Mom's and Babies - a home environment is much more peaceful and a great place to start new lives off right! A home check will be done before releasing to foster and you must fill out the foster form.
**In the event that someone can not adopt or foster but wants to help a particular dog or cat we have a sponsorship program in which a person will donate the adoption fee for one month to go towards the animal's feeding and medical care, it will also help cover part of the adoption fee for the pet allowing them to be adopted more quickly.
Your sponsor ship will spay one animal, help it to be healthier, speed up it's adoption process, and also keep the pet population down. You will save lives by making this gracious donation!
Cat spay/neuter sponsors are $40
Dog spay/neuter sponsors are $60

Out staff and volunteers are busy working hard to make the facility more comfortable for the animals. Over 500 dogs and cats come through the shelter monthly. The staff at TLHS loves these animals and do everything they can to help them get adopted but resources are limited.
You are invited to join in the effort to provide the best possible care for our animals. By becoming a member of TLHS you will receive quarterly reports from the shelter, a membership card and a 10% discount on all events, adoptions, and items sold by the shelter. The membership cost only $40 and your membership will run for one year. This fee covers both individuals and families.

People Saving PetsTM is an exciting campaign that
uses positive and uplifting advertising, public relations and community events to
educate and engage the public, change perceptions about pet homelessness and
increase pet adoptions and spay/neuter surgeries. It is designed to inspire
action to save the lives of homeless pets. By highlighting the efforts of
national and local animal-welfare partners, the campaign will inspire a broad
range of public participation.
With advertising that focuses on the human-pet bond, People
Saving Pets will showcase the ways that pets enrich our lives and will provide
information and education about the ways to end the tragedy of euthanasia. The
campaign encourages people to spread the word about the campaign and its goals.
Members of the public can participate in People Saving Pets in a number of ways
– from joining as a member, attending local pet-themed events, donating time or
money, buying official People Saving Pets merchandise, adopting a pet and
spaying/neutering your pet.
