TLHS would like to take a minute to say thanks to the community for helping us out and especially to our friend Bridget Tucker. Over the past 10 years we have worked tirelessly to save the lives of animals in our community. Every time we are in need, pet parents in this community and those from the northeast who have adopted animals from our shelter step up to help us. With our new shelter now in the works, it’s really a dream come true.
We are always amazed at the generosity of our pet parents. Recently when we came close to running out of food, one our 3 time adopters Bridget Tucker from Massachusetts did a fund raiser for the shelter. Bridget adopted her furbabies Willow, Poppy, and Ginny through our northern rescue partner Canine Commitment of New England.
To help us gather food donations, she raffled off a 150.00 gift card to her clothing boutique selling LulaRoe. All people had to do to enter the raffle was post a receipt from Amazon showing they purchased cat or dog food for the shelter. After it was purchased, the dog and cat food was delivered to our door by Amazon. Now we have so much food we don’t really have any more room for it at the moment. Overall, Bridget was able to raise 392 cans of food, 791 lbs of dog food, and 310 lbs of cat food! This is so amazing.
We absolutely love to see the creative ways this community has worked to help us accomplish our goal of saving the lives of animals. We have had young children give their birthday money. We’ve had classrooms, ball teams, and youth groups hold food and donation drives. And we are so thankful.
To those who sent or stopped by with donations we thank you!
To those who came to volunteer to walk dogs or picked up donations we thank you!
To those who came to foster we thank you!
TLHS is grateful for all of you!
Right now, what we really need is monetary donations. A few weeks ago, we started construction of the new Tupelo Lee County Humane Society shelter. The fund raising for this project started 10 years ago. So many people have devoted so much time and money to make this happen! We still need to raise some $400,000 in additional funds in order to enter the shelter debt free. Please consider donating to this amazing project. Every little bit helps.
