Mississippi - Fighting Animal Cruelty Together (MS-FACT) is working hard to spread the word across the state to help to try and pass felony animal cruelty laws to protect cats & dogs in MS. Visit their website: www.ms-fact.org
Also, they have an online petition, and printable petitions/brochures on the website, as they are up against Farm Bureau's opposition and want to show there is as many for this bill as those involved with Farm Bureau that opposes it. The web address for the online petition is:

TLHS has teamed with nearly 3,500 shelters from around the world to participate in the annual Iams Home 4 the Holidays (IH4TH) pet adoption campaign, founded by Helen Woodward Animal Center and supported by Iams. (TLHS) is participating in the campaign Oct.1, 2009 through Jan. 4, 2010 to help place 1.5 million pets into homes.
All dogs, cats, puppies and kittens adopted during IH4TH will go home with an Iams Adoption Kit. Included in each kit are information tips to help the new parent and their furry friend get off on the right paw.
Help homeless animals this holiday season by opening your hearts and homes. We are proud to be one of the many shelters participating and hope you join us as we all strive to help place one-and-a-half-million pets into happy homes nation wide. Let’s work together and make a difference!
About Iams Home 4 the Holidays (IH4TH)
As one of the most successful pet adoption programs in the world, IH4TH partners with nearly 3,500 animal organizations dedicated to finding forever homes for orphaned pets. Founded by Helen Woodward Animal Center and supported by Iams, IH4TH began in 1999 with just 14 participating animal shelters in San Diego County. Since it began 11 years ago, IH4TH has helped more than 3 million families experience the joy of pet adoption, including more than 1.2 million pet adoptions last year alone.
